We aim to use as few cookies as possible. This page lists everything we set on ownos.co.uk and why, so you can make an informed choice.
Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Lifetime | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Security (CSRF protection on form submissions), cookie-consent preference stored in localStorage, hashed-IP rate-limiting for form abuse. | Session or 12 months | No (strictly necessary) |
| Performance & analytics | Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. Both are cookieless by design and do not set persistent identifiers. Counted toward consent for transparency only. | n/a (no cookies) | No |
| Advertising | The Meta pixel (_fbp, _fbc), on the AI Business Check pages only, so we can tell which ads bring people who finish the check. Loads only after “Accept all”. Nowhere else on the site. | 90 days | Yes (consent) |
How to control cookies
When you first visit the site, you're shown a cookie notice with two options: Essential only or Accept all. Either choice is stored in your browser's localStorage as ownos.cookie-consent. Clear your browser storage and refresh to see the notice again.
You can block all cookies in your browser settings without losing access to the site, but the cookie notice may reappear on each visit.
Changes to this policy
If we add a category (we currently don't plan to), we'll update this page and re-prompt for consent. The previous version of this policy is archived in our public git history.
